TJR says

Fourth album from the Stockport four recorded, as usual, at their own hometown Strawberry Studios. Once again, all players introduce a wide array of intruments to accomodate the art-pop vision, lining up: Eric Stewart (lead guitar, vocals, pianos, bass guitar, pedal steel), Lol Creme (vocals, keyboards, pianos, guitars, maracas, clavinet, organ, gizmotron, sleigh bells, tambourine, vibraphone, recorder), Graham Gouldman (bass guitar, vocals, rhythm & slide guitar, tambourine, zither, cowbell, glockenspiel) and Kevin Godley (vocals, drums, congas, timpani, cowbell, bongos, triangle, maracas, temple blocks, tambourine, castanets, cabasa). Their sound continues to be too soft and middle-of-the-road for my tastes, with only one commendable track, “I Wanna Rule The World”, a Pink Floyd meets Alex Harvey mini-drama in which Gouldman, Creme and Godley all play vocal parts. Lol Creme emerges as the funniest, assuming dual roles as the screaming madman as well as the evil child, where he's surely enhanced either by helium or studio tape manipulation! As I'm led to believe, it's Godley & Creme who're at the heart of this kind of thing. Their penchant for experimenting with the arty and cinematic was at odds with the more pop-oriented ambitions of Stewart & Gouldman, and the friction would case the two pairs to split apart after this LP, ending the 4-year 4-album run of the quartet.
