“Décèption Motema” by Bopol Mansiamina - album review

TJR says

Throughout the late 60s and 1970s, the bass player had been involved with a great number of Zairean and West African groups including Orchestre Bamboula, Orchestre Rock-a-Mambo, Dr Nico's African Fiesta Sukisa, Orchestre Continental, Afrisa, Orchestre Mamumay, Ya Toupas and Sam Mangwana's African All-Stars. He started making solo records at the beginning of the 1980s. I'd be wary of commenting on the background to this LP as the information is so scarce. To the best of my knowledge, the Star Musique label is American, so that's not too much help. What can be said for certain is that the six quoted players on this gorgeous soukous long-player are: Nyboma Mwan'dido (vocals), Bopol Mansiamina (bass), Dally Kimboko (lead guitar), Marlos (rhythm guitar), Daniel (sax) and Hyppolite Kouevi (drums). And a great combo they are too!
