The first Canned Heat record without Al Wilson and, boy oh boy, the formulaic boogie blues here is sure missing his character and inspiration. The unexpected guest appearance of Little Richard for “Rockin’ With The King” raises the excitement levels a tad, but even that is bordering on the generic cliche. By the time I get around to the 8 minute closer “Utah” my side notes are reading “what a chore”…
