Experimental trio from Berlin unleash radical post-music vision upon unsuspecting public. At this stage Einstürzende Neubauten (Collapsing New Buildings) consists of Blixa Bargeld (lead vocals, guitars, noises), N.U. Unruh (percussion, vocals) and F.M. Einheit (percussion, vocals). The industrial noises were obtained from self-made music machines, electronics, and found objects such as metal plates. There is much banging of metal, abusing of guitar and anguished screaming. Menacing slow stomper “Kollaps” is closest to conventional structure and is the clear highlight. This set is not thrilling, but it’s highly intriguing. All hail the big bang of 1976 and its floating nebulae…
