“Roustabout” by Elvis Presley - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1964 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s |
Roustabout is a 1964 American musical feature film starring Elvis Presley as a singer who takes a job working with a struggling carnival. For some reason, the film's soundtrack album was one of Elvis Presley's most successful, reaching no. 1 on the Billboard Album Chart but, to my ears, there's nothing of any substance onboard, with only two tracks - “Hard Knocks” and “Wheels On My Heels” - worthy of (low) pass marks.
