“Slow Dazzle” by John Cale - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1975 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1970s |
To my sensitive ears, “Slow Dazzle” is mostly an album of session muso sludge that Jools Holland would be proud of. Amazingly though, just as the album hits its lowest point with “I'm Not The Loving Kind”, he bounces back at the end with 2 really strong tracks to spare the album’s blushes somewhat; “Guts” and “The Jeweller” are inspiring, fiery and poetically brilliant.
