“Rock N Roll Animal” by Lou Reed - album review

A well-received album, recorded live on December 21, 1973, at Howard Stein's Academy of Music in New York City, and released in February, 1974. Surprisingly, 4 of the 5 tracks are VU covers. Helping to ruin the originals were: Pentti Glan (drums), Prakash John (bass), Ray Colcord (keyboards), Dick Wagner (guitar) and Steve Hunter (guitar). John excepted, Alice Cooper would soon hire this band to back him on his first solo LP, “Welcome To My Nightmare”, in 1975. Friends, that tells you all you need to know about this one…
