“Hard Again” by Muddy Waters - album review

Hard Again? I’ll say. The 63-year-old only went and delivered the album of his career in '77! It's just a pity that he seen fit to drag up older material YET again - there’s at least 4 reworkings onboard, rendering the LP “b-list”. They are: “Mannish Boy” (single, 1955 & More Real Folk Blues LP, 1965), “I Want To Be Loved” (single, 1955), “I Can’t Be Satisfied” (single, 1948 & Best Of LP, 1957) and “Deep Down In Florida” (King Bee LP, 1971). The take on “Mannish Boy” is a career-defining moment of pure, raw-blues glory. “Hard Again” was duly rewarded with a Grammy this year for “Best Ethnic or Traditional Recording”.
