“Alias Pink Puzz” by Paul Revere and The Raiders featuring Mark Lindsay - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1969 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s |

The second LP of 1969 from the new Paul Revere and The Raiders line-up. The title says a lot about the band's position at the time. Never quite fitting with the “hip” or the “counterculture” they struggled to be taken seriously in certain quarters. To prove a point to themselves they'd send records to a particular radio station in L.A. purporting to be a hip new band, Pink Puzz! They got played until their real identity was uncovered. Heehee, got to love that. Anyway, they continue to slide further down my affections with every passing album, although “Down In Amsterdam” - co-written by Mark Lindsay and new bassist Keith Allison - is hanging in there as a cool Rolling-Stones-esque-rocker.
