TJR says

The Spirit of ’67? In ’66? Listen, you cannae make pea and ham soup out of chicken, don’t try and kid me sonny boy. Paul Revere and the Imitators might have been a better name for this lot. Like the Bee Gees a few years earlier, it was uncanny how they could miraculously reinvent themselves to reflect the fashionable trend of the day. Opener “Good Thing”, as decent as it is, is only a second class “Under My Thumb”. This sets the tone for what’s to come. For the second album in a row, guitarist Phil Volk gets a chance to step up, and delivers one of the better tracks, “Why? Why? Why? (Is It So Hard)”, a vaguely sinister folk rocker in the vein of a Phil Ochs. “Undecided Man”, opens up side 2. It’s thoroughly excellent – even if it is 100% rooted in “Eleanor Rigby”! Underlining their with it credentials, “1001 Arabian Nights”, delves headlong into the mystical world of folksy psychedelia with some unusual, but entertaining, vocal drone techniques in the way of the ancient shaman. They are a good band, and they can play some, but there’s no integrity in imitation and therefore they will leave no legacy with any bona-fide artistic credentials. Nice enough though – with some great moments as mentioned…
