Or, as I like to call it, “Disconnections”. I'm alienated by Richie's comfortable brand of soft rock and pop balladry by 1980, especially since he's operating mainly as a covers artist. “Best” in the set are “Going Back To My Roots” (Lamont Dozier, 1977), “We’ve Got Tonight” (Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, 1978) and “Dreams” (Fleetwood Mac, 1977).
