Third long-player from the Philly vocal group, maintaining their record of an album every two years since '75. The siblings are: Debbie Sledge (24), Joni Sledge (22), Kim Sledge (21) and Kathy Sledge (20). This was the one which propelled them to international stardom, and the main credit for that lies with the Bernard Edwards / Nile Rodgers production duo, handling the group for the first time. Rodgers later opined that “pound for pound, I think We Are Family is our best album hands down.” The best tracks are the singles; “He's The Greatest Dancer” (US #9), “We Are Family” (US #2), “Lost In Music” and “Thinking Of You”. “Lost In Music” never charted in the US but made #17 in the UK, whilst “Thinking Of You” was a later UK release in 1984, and made #11.
