Sweeney’s Men

TJR says

This fine debut album - a mix of Irish and American folk traditionals - was issued in July, 1968. With hindsight a supergroup, the trio lined up: Johnny Moynihan (vocals, bouzouki, tin whistle), Andy Irvine (vocals, mandolin, harmonica, guitar) and Terry Woods (vocals, guitar, banjo, concertina). Johnny and Andy went on to find success with Planxty and others, and Terry did similarly with Steeleye Span and The Pogues, to mention but two.
