“The Clash [1979]” by The Clash - album review
features in: (B-list) Album Chart of 1979 ● (B-list) Album Chart of the 1970s |

Back to the bad old days of the 60s with the U.S.A. album releases being completely different from the U.K. And two years behind too! Distasteful behaviour, even if it did make for a better album. The release wasn’t too surprising - The Clash’s 1977 UK debut LP was the biggest selling import album of all-time in the States. For the record, the new American version added “Clash City Rockers” / “Complete Control” / “(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais” / “I Fought The Law” / “Jail Guitar Doors”, and removed “Deny” / “Cheat” / “Protex Blue” / “48 Hours”. So much change that I classify it as a totally different LP.
