TJR says

Debut album from the young New York rockers who lined up: Mark Stein (20, lead vocals, keyboards), Vince Martell (21, guitar, vocals), Tim Bogert (22, bass, vocals) and Carmine Appice (20, drums, vocals). “What the world needs”, thought they, “is an album of pop and soul covers done sludge-rock-style, ground down with a low and dirty hammond organ pushed into the red.” Getting Vanilla-Fudged were: “Ticket To Ride” (The Beatles, 1965), “People Get Ready” (The Impressions, 1965), “She’s Not There” (The Zombies, 1964), “Bang Bang” (Cher, 1966), “You Keep Me Hanging On” (The Supremes, 1966) and “Take Me For A Little While” (Evie Sands, 1965) and “Eleanor Rigby” (The Beatles, 1966).
