“Reckless Love Affair” by Wanda Jackson - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1967 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s |

Released in March 1967, “Reckless Love Affair” was a bit of a hit-and-miss affair, with all the best action coming in the first half. A compile of sorts, 10 of the 12 tracks had appeared as single sides between 1965 and 1966. Wanda plays the lover-spurned in “The Box It Came In” - the lady's got murder on her mind! Broken-hearted lovers are at the centre of the duet song, “What Have We Done”, there's regret at two lives having been shattered for the most trivial of reasons. Bad-ass Wanda returns for “This Gun Don’t Care”, a Rhythm n Blues stomper that finds our girl threatening to shoot anyone who crosses her. She looks so sweet and innocent too…
